Set a referral goal

Set a simple target like 1 referral every 2 weeks, see who's below it, and let the portal remind those members the day before the meeting.

A referral goal gives your chapter a simple target, like 1 referral every 2 weeks. It's off until you set it. Once it's on, you can see who's below the goal, and those members get a friendly reminder before the meeting. It's a nudge, not a rule: nothing else happens to a member who misses it.

How do I set a goal?

  1. Open Activity and find Referral goal.
  2. Tick Set a referral goal for members. This switches the goal on right away.
  3. Choose the number, from 1 referral to 10 referrals.
  4. Choose the period: each week, or from every 2 weeks to every 8 weeks.
  5. Tap Save goal.

You can change the number or period at any time, then tap Save goal again. To switch the goal off, untick the box. That saves as soon as you untick it.

What counts toward the goal?

Referrals that members give to other members count, in your chapter or to another chapter. A multiple referral counts once for each person referred. Outside and partner referrals don't count.

The period always ends today. On a 2-week goal, the portal looks at the last 14 days. A member who joined during that time isn't counted until they've been a member for a full period.

How do I see who's below it?

Under the goal, Activity lists everyone below it, under Below the goal since and the date the period began. You see for each member:

  • Given: how many they've given in the period, like "0 of 1".
  • Last referral: the date of their last one, or None yet.
  • Reminder: Sent with the date, or Day before the next meeting if it's still to come.

When no one is below it, Activity says Everyone has reached the goal. The list is a good guide for a quiet word at the meeting, or a thank-you to members who are close.

What do members below the goal get?

The day before each meeting, members below the goal get one short email, sent in the morning (from 10 AM your chapter's time). It tells them the goal, how many they've given, and how many more would get them there. It also suggests one member they could refer, with the reason, and has a button to start the referral.

Each member gets at most one reminder per goal period. On a 2-week goal, that's no more than one email every 2 weeks. The email goes only to members who've signed in to the portal before.

Members also see the goal on Home: a note says how many more referrals they need, with a good next person to refer.

Members can turn the email off themselves. In Profile & settings, under Email notifications, they switch off Referral goal reminders. The note on Home stays.

Questions

Do leaders and board members count?

Yes. Every active member is measured against the goal, including you.

Why isn't a new member on the list?

Members who joined during the current period aren't counted yet. They show up once they've had a full period to reach the goal.

Where does the suggested member come from?

It's the same "who you could refer next" suggestion members see on Home, from your own chapter, with the reason shown.

Can I stop a reminder going to one member?

Not from Activity. Each member can switch off Referral goal reminders in their own Profile & settings.

Does a big closed deal count for more?

No. The goal counts referrals given, not their value. A multiple referral counts once for each person referred.
